Java is a programming language created by James Gosling in Sun Microsystems at 1995. It is characterized by all programs being executable at any platform. Actually is the programming language most used around the world.
Javascript is a scripting language supported by all major browsers and it is mainly used for executing instructions at the client-side of a web application.
jQuery is a lightweight open source library written in Javascript by John Resig in 2006. It allows improve interaction between HTML and Javascript easing web applications development.
2step is a web application development environment written in Java by José R. Cabanes in 2001 at Zentense. It is characterized by a template system that acts as a glue between data, presentation and application logic layers.
Term used to denote the ease with which people can employ a particular tool. Work done by Jakob Nielsen at Sun Microsystems between 1994 and 1998 is considered as the start of usability applied to web applications.
Although all of the different browsers (Firefox, Explorer, Chrome, Safari, etc) support the same standards as HTML, CSS or Javascript, sometimes they are not supported the same way amongst them. Cross-browsing consists on overcome those differences and making a web application work right on most different browsers as possible.
